As the planet recovers from COVID-19 pandemic, consumer spending is bound to increase as vaccination rates are increasing and states opening up for business.

People have start returning to seeing our friends, families and getting out to see our world again. According to the some reports, people have been saving money to treat themselves post-COVID. Whether that’s a great vacation, fixing up their house, buying a new car.

When we faced this challenge at AuburnHacks'21 (organized by Auburn University, Alabama), our team tried to find a solution that could serve various sectors such as entertainment, tourism, outings, adventures and so on. The platform should not just provide a place to record their wishes but also a platform to manage and work out their savings. Also, proposed solution should not just work in the times of corona but post COVID-19 era as well.

Research

Due to the remote environment, the research was done primarily online. Platforms like Miro were used to gather and manage information.

Insights

• Tourism is bound to increase as vaccination rates are increasing.

• Customer spending will increase drastically.

• Solution proposed should serve various sectors such as entertainment, tourism, outings, adventures and so on.

• Proposed solution should not just work in the times of COVID but post Covid-19 era as well.

Our team was able to win a track award at the hackathon. I was responsible for coordinating between the team, Hi-Fi prototype preparation and the presentation.
